1 week

We made it through the first week. Sean had his first doctors appointment and is already up to 8 lbs! We also discovered that he was measured wrong at the hospital. He is actually 21 inches instead of the originally reported 19.5.

Big brother keeps saying "I like him" - we just watch very carefully since he can 'like him' a little rough.

Sean Robert

Sean Robert  was born July 9, 2010 at 5:46 pm. He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches (Dylan was the same length and 6 oz smaller). He is doing really well and very content.

Dylan seems thrilled (so far). Here are some of his comments from yesterday:

Hi Sean, nice to meet you (while shaking his foot)
I like him
Why he not say hi to me?
Why he not waving to me?
Don't cry Sean, it's ok, it's ok.

A few weeks ago Dylan asked "Mommy, how the baby going to get out of your tummy? He don't have a tunnel." I quickly was able to tell him that the Dr. has a tunnel and will get him out. Yesterday when we told him we were going to the hospital to have his baby brother he took all of three seconds and said "I'll get the tunnel." He then returned and handed me what his cars use as tunnels which is 2 paper towel rolls taped together. So helpful :)

The hospital internet is really slow so pictures aren't loading. Promise to get some up soon!

While we wait...

What we have been doing while we wait for this baby to come out.

I finished the fishie mobile for his room
made a hat to match his blanket (which are both very necessary for July)...

We had a birthday party a chuckie cheese where dylan and his friend alexa chilled on this cool virtual reality video game...

He rode his scooter...

We went to the sprayground early one morning before the heat wave...

During the heat wave we finger painted in the tub..

practiced some funny faces...

someone took a nap on the floor (hey, a nap is a nap)

Projects for Baby Sciltz

One of my outlets for stress is crafting things, especially when running isn't really in the cards. Being pregnant during busy season was pretty stressful - and this is how it manifested. I have one more project left to finish and only two more days of work, so I should have plenty of time. Then we just need a baby.

busy day

What happens when your parents are multi-taskers and have busy schedules? You get to do TWO fun activities in one day!

First was the Please Touch Museum in Philly

We looked under the hood..

Did some grocery shopping

Drove a dump truck

and played in the water table.

Then we went back over the bridge to the Camden Aquarium.
He was very excited about sharks and they have a lot of them.

He got to pet one

He saw some HUGE hippos
and sharks

wanted to pose like a turtle

It was a long, fun day.
